Meet the Middle School Admin Team

Middle School Principal

Greetings Eugenio Families!

It is an honor to introduce myself as the Middle School Principal at Eugenio Maria de Hostos Charter School.  At EMHCS, we have an extraordinary school community and a commitment to care for your children each day while providing them a world-class learning environment.

I arrived at Eugenio as both a seasoned teacher and a charter school administrator. Still, in addition to my role as an educator, I am, first and foremost, a father and husband. My wife and I are about to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary this fall.  We have 4 children ranging in age from 14-26 and a new grandson.  The 2020-2021 school year marks my 24th year in education. Since graduating from SUNY Brockport, I have served both the Greece and Rochester communities, spending my last 13 years in Rochester charter schools.

Being the principal allows me to work collaboratively with teachers and remain connected to our students learning and growth in the classroom. I firmly believe that every child can excel, and with a strong home/school partnership, our students will confidentiality begin to shape their future and the future of our community.

With my goal of continuing the tradition of excellence at Eugenio, I am committed to always exploring new ways to meet all students' needs and communicate more effectively with parents and community members.

To our new students, I cannot wait to meet you all!  Please know that my door is always open to you. I heartily welcome your conversation and input throughout this year.

Let us always keep our students the primary focus of our work. I look forward to celebrating our collective successes during the 2021-2022 school year.

Sincerely,

Bob Zimmerli

Assistant Principal     7 & 8

Dear EMHCS Family,

My name is Tara Ramirez, Assistant Principal of our Middle School.  Before becoming a part of the EMHCS family, I taught High School ELA in New York City for 2 years.  In 2003 I relocated to Rochester, NY, and spent another 16 years in the classroom.

It has been my pleasure serving the EMHCS community for the past 2 years! I believe all of our students are capable of great things and look forward to working closely with families, staff, and students to ensure that our students feel safe, supported, and successful.

Please feel free to contact me if you need any assistance:
