Meet the High School Admin Team

Wellinthon

Muñoz

Principal

Greetings,

My name is Wellinthon Muñoz, Principal of our High School. I have over 15 years experience in education at all levels including elementary, middle school, high school and college. Before becoming an educator, I served in the United States Navy and worked as a probation officer in the state of Virginia.

In partnership with parents, teachers, staff, and students it is my goal and the mission of our school to create a safe and nurturing community of learners where students earn the seal of Biliteracy (English and Spanish), learn to advocate for social justice and are prepared to enjoy and access what the world has to offer.

I am looking forward to a fantastic year of inquiry and learning. I encourage you to look for opportunities to attend student led conferences, our athletic activities, and be an active member of our school community.

If there is anything I can do to assist you and your child, please do not hesitate to contact me at wmunoz@emhcharter.net

Thank you for your support and dedication for the education of our students.

Saludos,

Dr. LaToya

Mañón

My name is LaToya Mañón and I am honored to serve as the Assistant Principal of EMH High School, located at the Kodak campus. I have been a dedicated educator in the Rochester community for 20 years. I grew up in Rochester, NY and graduated from Wilson Magnet High School. I began my post-secondary studies at Monroe Community College and I’m currently pursuing a doctoral degree in education with a focus on adolescent development in context.

As the parent of two EMH Elementary School graduates, I am excited to return, in a different capacity. I believe a collaborative learner-centered environment is key to supporting the development of the whole child and fostering professional growth in staff.

Please do not hesitate to contact me via email: LManon@EMHCharter.net shouldf you have questions or concerns. I look forward to working with you and your child/ren this year.

Kimberly

Johnson

Athletic Director

My name is Kim Johnson and I have over 10 years experience in Education. This is my fourth year working with our EMHCS family. As the Athletic Director at EMHCS, I value health and wellness within our school community and our students. EMHCS welcomes all students to participate in our sports program in grades 7-12.  Sports are an excellent way to grow emotionally as an individual.  As a former high school and collegiate athlete, I know that athletics played a major role in helping prepare me for college and the adult world. Because of sports, the lessons of my coaches, and the games I played, I developed skills in time management, problem solving, teamwork, motivation, and team building.

When a student-athlete chooses to participate in an athletic program at EMHCS, they and their families are committed to certain responsibilities and obligations. When parents take an active role in their son or daughter’s efforts in athletics, they ensure an enjoyable, educational, and successful experience. Winning isn’t the most important thing at EMHCS, our PRIDE (perseverance, respect, integrity, dedication, and excellence) characteristics and compliments that our young students display on the court/field means more.

As a community, let’s always, and in all ways, celebrate the efforts of our players and coaches as they strive to make EMHCS athletics #1 in class, style, sportsmanship, and competitiveness. Go Hornets, and have an enjoyable school year.

Thank you for your support and dedication for the education of our students.
