Letter From the Middle School Principal

It is an honor to introduce myself as the Middle School Principal at Eugenio Maria de Hostos Charter School.  At EMHCS, we have an extraordinary school community and a commitment to care for your children every day while providing them a world-class learning environment.

I arrived at Eugenio as both a seasoned teacher and charter school administrator, but in addition to my role as an educator, I am, first and foremost, a father and husband. My wife and are about to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary next month, and we have four children ranging in age from 12-24.  The 2019-2020 school year marks my 21st year in education. Since graduating from the SUNY Brockport, I have served both the Greece and Rochester communities, spending my last 13 years in Rochester charter schools.

Being the principal provides me the opportunity to work collaboratively with teachers and remain connected to our students learning and growing in the classroom. I firmly believe that every child can excel, and with a strong home/school partnership, our students will confidentiality begin to shape their future and the future of our community.

With my goal of continuing the tradition of excellence at EMHCS, I am committed to always exploring new ways to meet the needs of all students and to more effectively communicate with parents and community members.

To our new students, I cannot wait to meet you all!  Please know that my door is always open to you. I heartily welcome your conversation and input throughout this year.

Let us always keep our students the primary focus of our work. I look forward to celebrating our collective successes during the 2019-2020 school year.

Sincerely,

Bob Zimmerli
Middle School Principal
